About
I help organizations develop identity systems, enhancing their brands through clean web and print design. I have over 10 years of experience in the creative field, in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. This unique blend of experience allows me to bring a variety of skills to the table. My for-profit experience has given me proficiency in the procedures, systems, and best practices that are sometimes lacking in nonprofits. At the same time, my nonprofit experience in a number of hybrid positions has demanded that I develop a plethora of skills and proficiencies that are uncommon amongst many specialists today. In my repertoire, I count website design, website management and project management.
I have done freelance web design for a variety of organizations since 2004. I am currently Manager, New Media at the Cordoba Initiative, a nonprofit organization that seeks to heal the rift between the Muslim World and West. I contribute to furthering this mission by leveraging new media, including designing unique and innovative websites, building out social networking opportunities for Cordoba’s constituencies, and highlighting Cordoba’s work through e-newsletters and various Web 2.0 tools.
Previously, I was Manager, Internet and Creative Services at the Leader to Leader Institute, a small nonprofit organization with a mission to strengthen the leadership of the social sector. I served as the sole creative staff member, charged with the dual responsibilities of managing the organization’s online presence and print marketing materials.
Before joining the nonprofit sector, my work experience included serving as an HTML Coder for Betelgeuse Productions, a new media company, and as Production Editor at Nature, a large publishing company.
I graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I continue to take advanced graphics/web courses at Pratt Institute and NYU.
